Eat healthy: eat 3 whole meals a day. For your meals, you want something healthy and that fills you up so that you don’t get hungry again for a long time. You need to also make healthy choices like eating whole wheat bread or whole grain bread instead of white bread and brown rice instead of white rice. Cut all junk food. They are bad for you and cause weight gain fast. Cut fast food as well! If you get hungry in between your 3 meals, eat a piece of fruit/vegetable, low-fat yogurt, skim milk, or fruit juice. THey are all good and healthy and will burn fat. As well as eating healthy, combine with exercise and you will lose the weight healthfully and easily. Diets don’t work in the long run. When you consume too little, or deprive yourself of certain foods, you are also not getting the essential nutrients. That’s why everyone gain the weight back and more in diets. Diet’s are a plan for fail. INstead, just focus on eating healthy. You will feel better, look better, and perform better. Opt for a healthy lifestyle, not a fad diet. That’s how you lose weight and keep it off for good.
For the exercise, don’t overdo yourself. Just walking, jogging for 1 hour each day will be more than enough. Rememeber to rest for 1 day of the week. Also, if 1 hour is too long for you, you can BREAK IT DOWN thorughout the day. Nobody said you have to get it all done in one shot, just do some after you wake up, some in the afternoon myabe, and sometime before or after dinner. It’s more managaeable that way. Walking, jogging, running or swimming are aerobic/cardio exercises and they burn the most calories and fat. They will make you strengthen or build your muscle and keep you burning more calories and fat.
Eat healthy and exercise is the golden rule of losing weight. Good luck hun
How does a teenager lose weight?
I’m 16, I’m 5ft. 7in. But I recently just hit 220lbs. But I don’t understand why. I only drink water, because honestly I don’t like other drinks. I don’t snack in between meals most times, but like everyone I do every once in a while. And I really don’t eat a lot. I eat way less than my twiggy friends haha. I also do Zumba two days a week for 2 hours. And I days off from Zumba, I work, and I’ll do the 10 minute excersises they have on demand, it sounds silly but I’m DESPERATE. What am I doing wrong? My doctor says I’m not doing anything wrong, but I’m at a loss, I’d at least like to lose 75, and work my way down, but NOTHING works. Please help ): thanks.
Snacking between meals will actually help you boost your metabolism. You need to be working out 45 mins to an hour daily…any kind of cardio will do. Be patient and before you know it, the pounds will be gone.
Weight loss for teenagers?
Three of my friends and myself (we’re around 18) are really trying to lose some weight. More specifically, fat. None of us have that much to lose, but at the same time it feels like no matter how hard we try, we just can’t lose it! We joined a gym that has a routine, and is only a half an hour work out that they claim is equal to two hours walking. We go three to four times a week if we can. It helped a little, losing 2 or 3 pounds and maybe 1 or 2 inches. We’re trying to eat better, but sometimes it’s not that easy.
We need help.
Gym. Should we join a different gym? Our current gym is “Curves” which is actually a very nice place with very nice women, but it doesn’t seem to be working as well as we thought. We enjoy the half hour convenience and the fact we’re not surrounded by women and men with perfect bodies. Is this not the right type of gym for us?
Eating. How can we control our eating habits better? It’s hard to choose a salad over a juicy burger. And at school, we aren’t really sure how many calories are in our food. We know eating better is a big part to losing weight, but we just can’t seem to do it.
Any advice, tips, or facts would be greatly appreciated!
Calories is a large topic when it comes to weight loss. We need to learn 3 things: the volume of calories in our food, the volume of calories a certain activity expends every sixty minutes, and finally our own personal daily allowance of calories. I found the responses to all of these questions by visiting the website in the box below, they have lots of guidance, I shed 10 pounds by doing as they advised.
I need to lose weight, please help?
I am a teenager and I need to loose weight for a cruise in december.I know i won’t be able to enjoy myself if I am worried about how I look. I can’t take and dietary suppliment and I only have access to the gym every two weeks but I can only go for 5 days during that time for 20 minutes and I need help. food is my comfort and it is hurting me more than helping me.
I had my teeth worked on and could only drink things. I drank slim-fast for 3 weeks and lost 15 lbs. I was not heavy to begin with but I still lost. Sugarless candies are good to suck on when you get the urge to eat. When I was preg. I also craved ice. I ate ice all the time and gained very little weight.
Crushed ice, sugarless candy, slim fast, vitamins and exercise. Start small, but vigorous. If you walk for 15 min. Keep it at a brisk pace. DO eat breakfast- your body needs fat and calories to keep going. You don’t want to NOT EAT anything or your body will go into ” starvation mode” and it will desperately store fat b/c it is trying to preserve it’s self.
What is the best way to lose weight for ME?
I’m not afraid to tell you everything about me so here it goes…
I’m 15, and weigh anywhere between 155-160lbs.
I am more pickier (when it come to eating) then a little kid. Seriously.
Anything green – haha, that’s funny – I won’t eat.
Roast Beef? Nope
I really don’t like any vegetables, or fungus, whatsoever.
I guess you could say I’m not that into meat either, though I’m not a vegetarian. I’m in love with cheeseburgers.
When my family wants to go to a ‘fancy’ restaurant, I don’t go because I don’t like anything they serve.
Did I mention I LOVE chocolate?
I’ve heard zillions of time before that ‘I’m a picky eater’ and ‘I need to expand my horizons’…Blah, blah, blah…..I don’t like any of these things and I’m doubting that’s going to change.
Going to a gym? Nevergonnahappen.
Personal trainer? If only I had the money.
Working out every day for at least 60 minutes? That’s even funnier than me eating anything green.
Working out is not at the top of my list, though losing weight is right up there. You’re probably asking yourself ‘How are you going to lose weight if you barely eat anything healthy and never work out?’ And you shouldn’t be, because I asked this question for you to answer. I’m not trying to be a jerk or anything….I just don’t want a stupid plan that I’ll only do for a week or two. But, if you think it will work, then answer this question. PLEASE. All answers will be highly considered to be my ‘Diet Plan’ and the best one is clearly going to get 10 points. So go ahead, tell me you answers. Please? Thanks in advance!:)
P.S. – I’m really trying hard to make this ‘diet thing’ work. Don’t think I’m some stupid teenager who is just wasting your time – because I’m not. Thanks again.
Hey I just found this awesome article on “the science behind weight loss”. I got it from dietnation.com but I’ll paste it here to save you the trouble:
“Your body needs a certain amount of calories each day to maintain performance of normal activities, such as walking, breathing, sleeping, and thinking. Depending on your size, your body will require a different amount of calories each day.
On the flip side, if you eat too few calories your body will think its starving. This phenomenon goes back to the days of the caveman, when cave people weren’t really sure when or where they would find their next meal. The body learned to store excess calories as fat for future use. Well, we no longer live like that as we, fortunately and unfortunately, have unlimited access to food thanks to modern conveniences. What this means is, if you’re not eating enough calories your body will store the calories it does get as fat rather than trying to burn those calories. That sounds counterproductive, and it is. That’s why it’s important to feed your body regularly with the right amount of calories from the right sources.
One pound of fat equals about 3500 calories of stored energy. To lose weight you need to eat fewer calories each day or get your butt to the gym and burn off those calories. It’s that easy – you don’t need to be a mathematician to lose weight, you just need to start taking a look at some of your daily habits. Losing weight could mean shaving an extra 250-500 calories off your daily intake. Start your morning with a tall latte? Just one Vanilla Latte could pack an extra 250+ calories onto your daily caloric intake. By simply substituting your latte with regular coffee or green tea you could reduce your caloric intake substantially. If you want to try more exercise, calorie-burning activities such as walking to work, going for a jog with a friend, or taking the kids on a bike ride are all fun and easy ways to increase your daily activity level.
It is also important to remember that you need to eat the right calories from the right sources to lose weight and to maintain your weight loss. A meal of jelly beans and ding dongs that equals your daily caloric needs will not help you lose weight because these types of food are not nutrient sources that your body can use efficiently.
Eating right is a vital component of any weight loss plan, but it’s also very important to ensure that you get enough exercise. Combine aerobic exercise activities (also know as cardio) like walking, jogging or cycling with weight training (it doesn’t have to be anything too intense, but it helps a lot to lift some weights) to maximize your weight loss.”
I really like how this explains weight loss! Also while I was searching around I found this fantastic video which you should definitely check out, has a pile of great tips for how to shed the pounds: http://tinyurl.com/lose-weight-be-happy
I really hope this helps, the fact that you’re looking for help is a great start!
