I am a curvy girl, about to go to MEPS, and the last time I weighed in with my recruiter I lost an inch from my waist but gained a half inch on my thighs… I qualify because I am at 32% body fat, but since I am 5′ 7″ I have to be 163 pounds and I am sitting at 166. 8 today. I go to the gym daily and workout for an hour along with sitting in the sauna, but it doesn’t seem to be enough. I get on the shuttle to do to MEPS on Monday, so how can I burn more faster?

50 pounds in one month isn’t going to happen but you can lose 20-25, if you are very committed and diligent about sticking to your plan EVERY DAY! First of all, don’t starve yourself. That is the worst thing you can do for your metabolism. It will mess it up to the point that losing weight will be harder for you for years to come!

Check out the website below. Pay special attention to the “Diet Plans” section. My favorite quick weight loss diet is the 5-4-3-2-1 diet, BUT…you must eat nutritious foods to keep your metabolism fueled. You must also do cardio (check out the “Exercise Plan” section. That is what takes weight off FAST and that is what will help your thighs the most. As for your stomach, do plenty of crunches, side bends, toe touches…any movement that you can think of that moves that part will help it. If you eat properly for one month and exercise like crazy, you will feel very good about yourself in a month, regardless what the scale says. Good luck!!

The lemon detox or master cleanse/starvation diet you are referring to is a calorie deficit program.
You will lose a few pounds but when you start eating again you will probably gain more weight. You will lose weight on this diet. The average adult American has eight meals in their digestive system. Five more than they should. By going on a deficit diet like this you can lose around 10 pounds just by not eating. But it is only the weight of the food in your digestive system.
So it does work. But it does not change your size. Pour the soda out of a bottle and the shape of the bottle doesn’t change does it?
Once you start eating again you just replace all the missing food in the system. The signal these starvation diets send the body is that there is no more food available.
The body immediately stores any fat it can and begins to burn muscle mass for fuel instead of the stored fat (metabolism). Stored fat will be used as a last resort when needed.
The complete opposite of what you are trying to accomplish.
There is no build up of bad plaque, toxins, or sludge in a normal, reasonably healthy system.
If this was the case we would have people dying left and right from malnutrition since their small intestines couldn’t absorb nutrients.
The majority of the water from food and what we drink is reabsorbed through the colon, if our colons were clogged we would all be walking around looking like sponges right?

A good healthy diet high in fiber, lean meats, eggs, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, antioxidant foods, healthy beverages and low in added sugar and salt help people lose weight, gain weight, lower cholesterol, increase energy, improve brain function, lower blood pressure, reduce cancer risk, heart disease and stroke risk, and have a more positive lifestyle!
You need to eat a lot more food and a lot more fiber!
Diets that exclude foods from any food group are fad diets and do not lead to permanent weight loss or solve any other health issues.
First, try to kick your fiber intake to 40 grams of both soluble and insoluble fiber.
Whatever you do, get your fiber from your food, not from a jar.
Fruits and vegetables have good fiber in them.
Try a breakfast cereal with at least 20% of recommended daily allowance of fiber in it. They are usually low in sugar so there is a double benefit. Blueberries or raspberries on top add more fiber and antioxidants. But fresh or frozen, not the kind in syrup.

I know you’ve heard this question a thousand times, but how to talk to my dad about a horse?

Most of you are probably sick of hopeful little girls asking for a miracle solution about convincing their parents for a horse. However, that’s not what I’m looking for. I’m aware of the time and financial commitment involved in owning my own horse, I’ve been riding for about 4 years now, taken lessons and 4-h. I make about $20 a week helping out with my siblings each week and I have about $250 right now (I know that’s not even close to the starting costs but my plan is to give up my weekly earnings to pay for some of the monthly expenses and do extra chores/ find a barn where i can work off some of the board). I have almost straight A’s and I know my grades come first.
My mom is on board, but i’m not quite sure where my dad stands. I’m not sure if he takes me seriously, telling me i can have a horse if i can guess the singer or band in a song. Still, he’s not the easiest to talk to. So, I’m asking all of you if you can give me some tips on getting up the courage to present my argument to him. Not convince him, just start talking to him about the possibility of owning my own horse, or possibly leasing before I get my own.

I’m not looking for a lecture. I’ve looked at this from all sides, and I’m prepared for a “No.”. But I don’t want a bunch of people asking me if I know what it’s like and telling me I’m not mature or responsible enough for a horse. I was just hoping some of you have this experience and can help me with it.
By the way, I’m 14.
I do understand $20 a week is not enough to care for a horse. But that’s $80 a month so it’s more than nothing. And like I said, I’m doing extra chores, trying to find a place that will let me work off a little of the boarding and a real job. Unfortunately there are few places where I live that offer jobs to 14 year olds so I’m stuck with finding somewhere to babysit.

1 was abused , 1 is lame in all four feet and 1 is a Miniature and i have managed to take care of all of them , but the thing is i grew up in the country and was around horses since i was born . I muck their stalls everyday, give them baths 1 a week , i feed them in breakfast and dinner , i brush them while they eat , i pick their hooves and my father is a farrier and his friend is a vet , i give the lame horse her medicine , i clean their tack. Once a month i go swimming in our lake with them, unfortunately i cant ride them because i weigh too much for the Miniature, it hurts my lame horse , and the abused horse will only let my mom ride him , but i haven’t sold them just because of that.

If you live in the city it may be a little harder to convince him and it might be harder to stick to it, if you live in the country there is a better chance he will say yes cause it kinda comes naturally in the country.

Its a big responsibility but if your sure you are ready , try it

It seems to me all religions have God,( well the Non-Atheist religions), and then a (Helper) of some sort…ie: Messenger, Son, or One who still receives messages or ideas for transformation from Past times(old world), to modern world ( present times)… Shouldn’t We be praying or having Faith in/to God our Creator of all things and the Solution and Miracle or any thing possible, and ONLY GOD?!?!!

What to do about my terrible Acne on my face? Help?

So here’s the thing:
***I’ve had Acne for as long as I can remember–since 5th grade at least when i was 10. That’s when the blackheads showed up on my chin. It seemed as though things got worse and worse from there! I’m currently 15 and have struggled for 5 long years with terrible Acne; from the whiteheads, to the blackheads, to the bumps and sores, and everything else. So what could I do?
***You can’t even imagine the long, hard hours of research I’ve done on ways to treat Acne. Every time I think I’ve discovered something new, I get my hopes up and get upset when that doesn’t work. I see all these amazing and beautiful celebrities on tv and online and think to myself, imagine if I had that skin! My friends have beautiful faces so it makes me even sadder. I’m also very sensitive about my enormous nose, and the blackheads all over it don’t seem to help the cause! But I’m not going to get a nose job so my theory is that if I find some miracle to get pretty skin, then it won’t even matter if I have a big nose! Right?
Anyways…here’s the long list of products I’ve tried in my lifetime:
***I started with your basic store products, ya know, I did all the scrubs, all the cleansers, all the masks. I tried some Neutrogena blackhead scrubs because through my elaborate research I’ve learned scrubs with beads are best for blackheads:). Also I tried Biore deep pore cleansing strips which DON’T work because they only removed about one little tiny blackhead out of my infinite number of them. I have a Biore blackhead scrub that I use sometimes. I read reviews on ProActive and I haven’t been impressed with what they’ve said, so I haven’t tried that. My mom uses AcneFree alot, so I tried it, but I thought my skin didn’t improve. Next, I tried Neutogena SkinID. All that happened was I wasted $60 on something that actually made my skin WORSE. As if that was possible! I immediately stopped my subscription after 2 weeks of use and continued the search for the right product. After a while longer, it was finally TIME to go to a dermatologist. I thought that was my only solution left! The dermatologist put me on some things that work for now, but I wish my skin was better.
***As you have probably figured out by now, my major concern is all these blackheads all over my t-zone!! My skin is a combination of different skin types. I have very oily skin, but sometimes I’ll use those oil remover blue paper things (sorry I don’t know what they are called) to take care of that problem. It’s only oily in my t-zone, though, HENCE the blackheads! From the start of them in fifth grade, they’ve spread FAR and WIDE and I have these nasty, huge pores for the world to see. There are two spots on my face that I don’t normally get Acne: my cheeks and my forehead, thankfully! Right now on my face I have a couple of red zits along my chin on the sides, but they are drying up and should be gone in a few days. I think I have some more coming in. Ugh:( I don’t touch my face with my hands! I’m very diligent in not doing that!
***My normal face routine consists of washing my face with a face soap to remove my makeup/dirt on my face. I then use these strongly smelling alcohol pads I run over my whole face that my dermatologist prescribed. They kinda dry up my face a little, but I don’t mind because I have very oily skin. He also prescribed this creme that I put on my t-zone to help remove the blackheads. I don’t use it every day because it made my face peel if I did. I still get breakouts and my blackheads aren’t any different. They might even be getting worse?
***Please help me. My Acne IS a little better from what my dermatologist prescribed, but just like any other teenager I want beautiful, clean skin. If you’ve taken the time to read this whole thing, than please try and help me. My hope in there being ANY hope is gone. I’ve tried putting honey, glue, and other weird remedies to treat my skin on my face, so if you have something tell me! I’m desperate and will try anything once. Oh, and I also have blackheads all over my chest if that makes a difference. Do you know anyone with a similar situation? Suggestions? Any miracle products I should know about? What are your stories?

I recommend the aspirin mask. It’s good for cleaning your face once a week or so, but don’t overdo it because your face will grow tolerance to it.

In fact, I would recommend watching all of Michelle Phan’s skin care videos. She also endorses Iqqu, a skin care company. Personally, I’ve never tried it, and it’s very expensive, but I’ve heard it works wonders.

Also, you should figure out which skin type you have so that you know which works better, benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid; then you just research for products that have more of whichever one you need. This helped me out:

Quit drinking soda and juice as well. Instead, drink water.

Try exercising and breaking a sweat for a while. It cleans your pores out. Then, go wash your face when you’re done. Also, be sure to wash your body very well; I only break out in places other than my face when I’m not showering properly.

Though you may not be happy with the results, you really should listen to your dermatologist; they are a professional. If you feel like you aren’t getting the best results, maybe you should try another person.

We used a programme (the name is not important!).
By clicking the left and right arrows on the keyboard we were able to flick through images and track the movement of a cell

What is the correct word for this?

The reason why im asking here is because im pretty certain there must be a specific word to describe this.

I dont know how else to write it

Help! Image in Outlook is acting weird!?

Okay, here‘s the scoop. We have our company logo as part of our email signatures in Outlook. We sent out a mass email from one person’s email address. When the recipients received the email the company logo was shown as an attachment. When the clients clicked on the attachment they were brought to a screen where they could see the attachment. On this screen they could also press an arrow to go to another image. The images that they are seeing appear to be images from recent websites that they have visited. One of the clients reported seeing very BAD images if you get my drift. I have to come up with an explanation for our CEO as to why our logo was shown as an attachment in the first place and why clients are seeing other images when they open ours. Has anybody ever encountered this? Any ideas on why the image would be received as an attachment? HELP PLEASE!!! :o )

If they want a company logo as a signature, i am pretty sure it usually is attached to the email.

Its not your fault at all, and when they are pressing left and right they are viewing recent images that they have received through there emails as all outlook temporary images are put in the same folder. So if for example a naked lady has come up, that means that someone sent them a naked lady once upon a time and it has been temporarily saved on there computer.

Hope this is some help but that is outrageuous if your work blames you for this!!!!

You’re looking for Javascript animation effects. This one is using the script.aculo.us libraries (http://script.aculo.us/), probably the animation framework. As far as I know, these libraries are totally free. You’ll want to go to the script.aculo.us site and download the libraries (http://script.aculo.us/downloads), then check out the getting started guide (http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/Usage), documentation wiki (http://wiki.script.aculo.us/), and maybe poke around the google groups (http://groups.google.com/group/prototype-scriptaculous).

Alright. I just recently started this dieting plan i recently kind of made up, but im seeing results just a week later and so here it is;

i sleep well, then an hour after i wake up, i go run two blocks full speed with my dog, [you dont need a dog] once i get home, i drink some water, so some squats, that exercise when you put your legs against a wall for a minute, so some sit ups, and occasionally a few push ups. Eat fruits for snacks, never skip breakfast, eat a granola bar and some yogurt for breakfast. <—-this all should work as well for you as it is for me. [:

Try not to go back for seconds at mealtimes. Keep in mind though that you are still growing and you will probably slim down some as you grow. If you develop good eating habits now, they will benefit you throughout your whole life.

Well, there is no such thing as spot reduction, sorry to say. Areas where we have more fat are generally the toughest, since there is more there. Start a low calorie and carb diet with plenty of protein and add resistance total body training 3 days a week, followed by 20-30 minutes of intense cardio. Also, start your morning with cardio on an empty stomach. You will burn more fat doing this since you are not adding anything into your system before doing so.

Please pro advice only: How can I burn thigh/hip fat effectively & fast without putting on too much muscle?

I already have quite big legs so I don’t want a muscle-gaining workout. I just have excess fat around the hips/butt/thigh area and want to get rid of it in 3 months at the longest. I eat healthy, drink enough water and exercise 5 mins in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. I don’t think this is enough though. What is the most effective?
Also what are some other good tips or foods that are effective? (none of those pills or diet foods though)
Lastly, does dry-brushing and massage work? I heard it helps get rid of fat and tone up..?
I prefer professional/very accurate information please.

You need to exercise a lot more than you are doing now to achieve your goal of burning your excess fat.

The type of exercise you plan to do will affect your level of success though. You need to move your legs a lot without making them strain. Straining types of exercises will build up your muscles rather than just burn up your fat.

Fat is your body’s method of storing its reserve fuel.

The best such type of exercise I can think of is fast spinning (high cadence) cycling (bicycle riding). To do this you must have your bicycle set up extremely accurately by someone who knows how to do this and you ought to have company when you cycle so you will not get bored. I suggest a bicycle racing club which races on flat velodromes or criterium circuits might be the best choice for you if this is an option.

I am not suggesting you take up racing though, because that would entail training that would turn your fat into muscle.

You would probably only need about an hour a day of easy riding with high cadence to achieve your goal.
