How to Boost Your Metabolism
[ad#Slimer Top]
Boost Your Metabolism
Let’s face it, morbid obesity has turned into a serious problem in this country. An incredible number of people struggle with an obesity problem. One of the biggest concerns is abdominal fat.
The reason for this problem is abdominal fat is often related to insulin resistance and places you in danger of type 2 diabetes. Obviously, that is a concern for many people.
Boost Your Metabolism and Reduce Stomach Fat
Although some people are very concerned and try hard to boost their metabolism, they usually approach it in the wrong manner. Your metabolism requires food for energy, so when you aren’t eating enough, it compensates. Dieting on it’s own will not get rid of belly fat because when you restrict the number of calories you intake, your body goes into starvation mode and actually lowers your metabolism.
Boost Your Metabolism with Diet and Exercise
The easiest way to improve your metabolism is through a combination of both diet and exercise. You need to eat foods that are organic, such as herbal products high in fibers and rich and complex carbs. Avoid processed foods, even though they are easy, they often contain high quantities of sugar, particularly in the form of high fructose corn syrup. Forcing your body to work is what will boost your metabolism.
It is important for your exercise regime to include resistance training and aerobics exercise. Lifting weights will add lean muscle mass and it’s a way to increase your metabolism. The explanation for this is muscle tissue is more dense than body fat mass and it requires more calories to maintain your body weight. Aerobic exercise can be accomplished through a simple walk in or bike riding or if you have some kind of indoor equipment or gym you can use that as well
Anyone who has ever tried to shed weight usually explored all of the available diet or weight reduction plans before they pick one. It is important and strongly suggested that you consult your physician or other health care provider to determine which plan is best for you especially if you currently have any kind of medical conditions.
Several doctors or healthcare professionals who concentrate on weight loss or dieting are now starting to target exactly how low-carb foods may help people that are attempting to lose weight. Although many Fed tightened diets claim that you can lose weight while still eating all the foods you want, this is usually not the situation. Way of life change is necessary in order to lose weight. The fact is, that means you must commit to a change in eating routine as well as workout regimens.
Finally you don’t want to trick yourself. While some folks believe that NOT eating altogether will help with boosting your metabolism, this is wrong. Eating small meals is wonderful plan. This keeps your metabolism going all the time, but it also allows your body to use what it takes in, and doesn’t attempt to store it as fat. It’s probably time you worked on boosting your metabolism!
If you have worked hard following the old weight loss model, and got little in return, you probably find that you are tired much of the time, feel weak and irritable, and you have likely convinced yourself that you just don’t have the genetics required for a lean and toned body.
In fact, all you really need is a change of direction. So let’s focus on newer and better ways to lose that body fat. The newer strategies focus on your metabolic health and what actually happens after your exercise session has concluded, as opposed to the old approach of focusing only on what happens during the session. An important part of this new approach is to take into account the state of your metabolism, which is essentially your body’s engine, and which determines whether you burn body fat or store body fat during the course of the day.
We are going to briefly look at the three main strategies that can boost your metabolism and allow you to lose body fat in the quickest and easiest way possible.

Turbulence Training Nutrition Advice for Fat Loss
Nutrition Advice
“Who Else Wants Particle Nutrition Advice From a Weight Loss Expert?”
Dear Friend,
I would like of offer you some nutrition advice for fat loss. This is always tough to admit, but nutrition is more important than your workouts when it comes to fat loss.

And since diet is more important than exercise, I’ve decided to spend a lot time sharing nutrition advice for fat loss this week.
Nutrition Advice – 5 Tips To Get You Started
Nutrition Advice Tip 1 – Your nutrition program doesn’t have to be extreme. Hold up on making any extreme diet changes. Make sure the nutrition plan you’ve chosen is sustainable.
Simple diet changes go a lot farther than you might think. Why not just eat more whole, natural fat burning foods rather than trying to go on an impossible-to-stick-to ultra-low carb extreme plan?
Nutrition Advice Tip 2 - Get the junk out of the house. If it’s in your house, you’ll eat it…and trust me, this goes for me too. When I visit a relative’s house for holiday, I always eat the treats they have sitting around. That’s why I keep the junk out of my house.
//

So whatever your weakness is, keep it out of your home. Success is that simple.
Nutrition Advice Tip 3 -Fill in the “diet-killing” gap. For some folks, the diet-killing gap is between work and dinner. For others, it’s between dinner and bedtime, but for almost everyone, there is a point in the day when we suffer from mindless eating.
So make sure you have alternatives…as soon as you come home from work, cut up vegetables and dip them into hummus. That will keep you full on a small amount of calories. After dinner, if you need something sweet, stir up chocolate protein powder into a small bit of plain yogurt. That will satisfy you.
Nutrition Advice Tip 4 - Chew your food 5-10 times before swallowing. Most people eat so fast they only about 1-2 times. You’ll really notice a difference and you’ll slow your eating so you feel full.
Nutrition Advice Tip 5- Have a bowl of broth-based vegetable soup before a meal. American researcher Barbara Roll has published a lot of studies showing that this will help you reduce the food you eat. Surprisingly, consuming just water doesn’t seem to do the same trick.//

Fast Food Alternatives | Eating Healthy Foods
Eating Healthy Foods
“Who Else Wants to Learn More About How To Eat Healthy and Avoid Fast Foods?”
Hi Friend,
Are you looking for fast food alternatives and ways of eating healthy foods when you go out to eat? Let me ask you something: how many fast foods meals do you eat in a week?
Do you eat 3,5,7,10, or more fast food meals per week?
Do you really know what is in the fast foods you eat?
Eating Healthy Foods – Making Better Food Choices
There are better food choices than eating fast foods. I would like to talk to you about some fast food alternatives that can help you get healthy and help you to lose weight at the same time.
Start Eating Healthy Foods Right Now!
“How could you eat that junk? It’s so bad for you!” (nag, nag). “Don’t you know those fries will give you a heart attack?” (nag, nag). “You have to stop eating all that fast food, it’s going to make you fat!” (nag nag). “You have toeat more healthy food like fruits and vegetables – they’re good for you!” (nag, nag).
Your friends nag you, your family nags you, your doctor nags you, the health newsletters, websites and magazines – they all nag you, and of course, your personal trainer nags the heck out of you, to stop eating all those BAD FAST FOODS. But does all that nagging you and bad-mouthing the fast food industry really help anyone stop?
//
It doesn’t look that way. The fast food industry is thriving, even in the bad economy. The Chicago Tribune recently said that McDonalds is “recession proof.” As one of only two companies to turn a major profit over the last year (the other being Wal Mart), McDonald’s is laughing its way to the bank.
In fact, McDonalds plans to open 1,000 new stores this year. I was driving down Route 95 a few weeks ago and pulled over to use the rest room at Mcdonalds on a Saturday morning (there’s a McDonalds conveniently located immediately off almost every exit up and down the full length of Interstate 95).
The parking lot was full, it was standing-room only inside and the lines snaked around into the seating area! You’d think Brad and Angelina were there signing autographs or something.
Nope.
Just a regular weekend at breakfast-time. I was shopping in Wal Mart the same week and I almost passed out when I saw (smelled, actually) a McDonalds… INSIDE THE WAL- MART!
Also, with lines.
Yep.
It looks like your friends and family’s nagging you to stop eating fast food, and all the messages of the health and fitness industry to get people eating more “health food” are not working! So what does work when it comes to eating healthy foods?
Eating Healthy Foods – What Works!
The results of a new survey from the behavior and psychology section of the journal, OBESITY (Feb 2009) provide some answers: Researchers at the University of Minnesota School of Public health surveyed 530 adults about their attitudes towards fast foods.
They found that people already know fast food is unhealthy. (like, no kidding!) The primary reasons they eat it anyway are because of the perceived convenience and a dislike for cooking! (I’d add another: they think fast food is always cheaper than eating healthy foods).
What’s the right approach? Focus on teaching people how to make healthy eating fast, convenient and easy, because those are the reasons people are choosing fast food in the first place. Are you letting your appetite for fast foods get in the way of you eating healthy foods in order to lose weight? So what’s holding us back from implementing or taking this advice?
That said, I’m not going to nag you, scold you or try to scare you out of eating fast food. I’m not going to lecture you about health food (not today, anyway). Nor am I going to bad-mouth the fast food restaurants.
3-MINUTE APPLE CINNAMON OATMEAL
* natural (unsweetened) applesauce
* cinnamon
* for protein, serve with scrambled eggs or egg whites on side or stir 1-2 scoops of vanilla protein powder into the oats
I eat this almost every morning. It’s faster, easier and cheaper than going to the donut place or getting sausage, cheese, bacon breakfast muffins at the fast food joint! (you don’t have to wait in line, either!)
10-MINUTE LAZY PERSON’S CHINESE STIR FRY
* frozen oriental vegetables
* chicken breast, grilled (try foreman grill)
* bragg’s “liquid amino’s” (or light/lo-sodium soy sauce)
This takes 30 minutes, however, if you get a rice cooker and make a giant batch, you can have your rice on standby for instant eats and this will take less than 10 minutes.
It doesn’t get much easier than that. (I like those Chinese veggies that come with the little mini-corn-on-the-cobs… reminds me of that Tom Hanks Movie, BIG)
2-MINUTE BLACK BEANS AND SPICY SALSA
* Medium or hot salsa
* 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
* 2 cloves garlic or chopped garlic to taste
* salt and pepper to taste
This means that my way of eating makes you more muscular and leaner… so you can look hot wearing very little clothes this summer… and be healthier… and save money too.

Calories Burnt Walking
Calories Burnt Walking
Dear Friend,
There are a lot of calories burnt walking and this is one of the easiest ways to burn fat and lose weight. Keep that heart-rate up! That’s what my Coach use to say to us about walking to lose weight. Not all the time of course. Just for about 45 minutes, five days each week.

It’s great to get that blood pumping and those calories burning. In fact, it’s essential if you plan to remain healthy and thin. And I think we all want to stay this way. So, the big question is; what are you doing to achieve this goal?
I have my personal routines, and have come to enjoy them. This is not bogus. You really can enjoy exercise and fitness regimes. The wonderful results will make you want to work harder.
Anyway, for those of you out there who haven’t found a decent fitness routine, I will recommend walking for exercise. This is a great way to get in shape.
Calories Burnt Walking – Great Way To Get In Shape
In terms of exercise, far too many people take an all or nothing approach. Either you are training for a marathon, or you are a total couch potato. Although this leads some people to getting physically fit, most people find this approach discouraging. A lot of people who might be motivated to exercise otherwise, drop out under the pressures of unrealistic expectations.

I used to think that I never would be fit. You see, most of my friends are into jogging exercises. My knees are bad, and besides that I was severely overweight. I thought there was no way I could workout until I discovered walking for exercise.
Walking is actually a great exercise, it turns out. Walking exercise is very good for you because it is a low impact workout. You would be surprise to know how many calories burnt walking. If you walk for 20 – 45 minutes you can burn a lot of calories. Walking for exercise has many of the benefits of jogging without any of the drawbacks. It elevates your heartbeat, get your blood pumping, and even strengthens your legs.
It does all of this without putting unnecessary strain on your knees. My friends who are jogging won’t be able to jog in 10 years. The jogging might actually make it so that they can’t walk. But I will be able to walk for exercise for as long as I’m alive. It’s really a great routine!
Few people really understand the possibilities of walking for weight loss. They think that, because walking for exercise is a more moderate exercise than jogging, you won’t be able to lose as much weight. In fact, although you may not be able to lose weight quite as fast, it is comparable. Most people can walk for longer, so walking for exercise can actually cause you to lose more weight.
You see, it is not how intense the workout is that determines how much weight you lose, it is how long it is. If you can moderately elevate your heart rate for 40 minutes by walking for exercise, it will do more good for you than 20 minutes of intense jogging.
The benefits of walking for exercise include weight loss, better cardiovascular health, more flexibility, and a better mood. Once you start exercising regularly, you’ll feel better than you ever have before. Most of the moodiness that most people get, in fact, can be alleviated through regular exercise.
That is why I go on a walking workout every day. I always feel better after walking for exercise. And feeling good, after all, is what it is all about.
So many people have ditched the gym and fitness center scene. They’re tired of the massive monthly memberships and towel fees. They want their exercise to be free and lack the filth of other people’s sweat. That’s understandable, right?
Walking for Exercise – Calories Burnt Walking
Well, if this rings a bell with you, then maybe you’ve considered walking for exercise. It’s easy, there’s no driving involved, and it’s free. You can’t say the same for most exercise regimes. Heck, most workouts even tend to require equipment of some sort. That can turn into a hassle for some folks. If you’re one of them, walking for exercise is for you.
The reason I promote walking over running is simple. Running has been proven to have nasty effects on your body. For example, slamming the heals of your feet into the pavement below can really take a toll on your ankle and knee joints. In addition, running jars your insides. This can lead to the unnatural shifting of organs. I seriously doubt that anyone wants to deal with that.
Where do you live? So many individuals and families reside in suburbs and neighborhoods that are ideal for walking. This means there is no excuse for you not walking for exercise. Get outdoors and get going. Be sure to dress for the season.
Take in all the sights of your neighborhood, while getting your exercise done right. Also, try to only walk during daylight hours. This makes the most sense since that’s when you can be aware of your surroundings.

Counting Calories to Lose Weight
“Who Else Want To Know
How To Count Calories To
Lose Weight?”
Hi There,
Counting calories to lose weight without a doubt can be a tedious task, and can add extra work on top of other daily activities in our hectic lives, but like many things in life, extreme measures are needed for desperate situations!
Well, I’m not sure I would call Counting Calories to Lose Weight an extreme measure. Rather it’s something outside the normal routine, and possibly is a “necessary evil” for some of us to achieve effective weight loss — you get the point.

Counting Calories to Lose Weight – Calories Per Day
The first thing you need to do when you want to burn more calories is to establish you caloric needs. An average size woman extends around 2000 calories per day. Depending on your current weight, height and level of physical activity, you should consider consuming around 1200 – 1700 calories per day, for a long term healthy weight loss.
Even though consuming less than 1000 calories per day might help you lose weight fast and easy, such an extreme weight loss might have repercussions on your health.
So when do you start counting calories to lose weight?
Remember… Calories Consumed = Calories Burnt + Fat
In other words if you eat more than you use, the result is that you will tend to gain weight. If you haven’t done so already, you need to establish your calorie goal per day according to your diet. Don’t be too ambitious to start with; you can always lower it gradually later. //
Getting started You will need a calorie guide that shows the amount of calories in a given portion size. A measuring scale to weigh your food will also be useful. There are plenty of books on food charts available or just type ‘Calorie chart’ into Google. You’ll find lots of websites with calorie counts for each food type.
Keeping Count Tracking your calorie intake is hardest at the beginning because you will have to look up the values for every food item. However once you have done this, simply jot down the result in a notebook. This doesn’t have to be complicated, for example: Dinner – chicken breast, broccoli, 1/2 baked potato: 325 calories Don’t forget you should be tracking your snacks as well. If this is a packaged item you can simply take the calorie count from the label.
Portion sizes you calorie count will give you an idea of how much you can eat. This means you will have to do some calculations to determine the calories in a given size like 1/2 cup of carrots, or 1/2 potato. However once you have done this and put the result in your notebook you won’t have to do it again.
Eat frequently eating only one or two meals a day is counter-productive to your goal of losing weight. It is much better to have small meals plus snacks throughout the day. Try to avoid going long periods like five hours without eating anything.
Counting Calories To Lose Weight – Get Organized
Organize your results After you have been doing this for about two weeks you should have covered a good variety of snacks and meals. Organize you notes for easy reference. For example you could have a separate page for each meal type (breakfast, lunch dinner) and snacks. Group the related main dishes together, like chicken, beef or fish. This will make it much easier to look up your calorie counts for similar meals.
Eating Out this is more difficult because you don’t know exactly what is in each dish. Restaurants often use sauces, which add to the total calories. If you are eating out, jot down the meal details and look up the values at home. You should add in a few more calories to be on the safe side. The best way to keep a running total of your caloric intake is to carry a simple paper and pencil with you everywhere you go.
If you have a high end cell phone or PDA, you can always use that to keep track of your numbers as well. The important thing is that you always have some idea of how many calories you’ve eaten. At the end of each day, you should total your calories as well as which foods were the worst offenders in terms of large amounts of calories.
If you’re over the daily limit you set for yourself, see if there are any areas where you could have cut out some calories or eaten less. Chances are there will always be at least one item you could have lived without.
It’s Worth it knowing how much you are eating each day is a huge step in controlling your weight. If you can discipline yourself to follow the above tips for only two to three weeks you should find the process of counting calories much easier. And you should begin to see an improvement in your dieting results! When we eat or do physical exercise, the body produces a whole range of hormonal responses.
